Keith Urban is back in the studio according to a recent social media post, so does that means new music is on the way? Yes, and no.
The superstar explained the post during a recent interview with Pennsylvania's The Morning Call newspaper ahead of a performance in Allentown. "Some people were asking where we've been and I thought, 'Well, maybe if you send a picture or something, let your audience know," he offered.
Keith recognizes he has to be careful with posts like that, however. "I get reticent to do that, because people always think music is looming anytime soon," he explained. "Which it's not necessarily. It's that making records is a process for me, and it can either come quick or take an enormously long time. I tend to get in the studio once we're finished touring, which for me was sort of January [and] February. I was writing and recording a little bit. Working toward new music, you know?"
Keith was also asked about a possible return to American Idol when its reboot debuts soon. "There's been talk about it, yeah, but I'm not quite sure," he said coyly. "There's an enormous amount of moving parts on everybody's side, I think, right now."
The wide-ranging interview also covers Keith's creative process, his involvement the YouTube's first reality singing competition Best Cover Ever and even his upcoming 50th birthday. Read more from The Morning Call here.
