Super high hopes for this one.
When I (Charlie) was 17, I traveled overseas to play basketball for the USA in Italy for a summer. On my way, I had a 2-day layover in New York City. I'd never seen anything like Times Square in my life (it's still magic to me today-btw).
Anyway, I was used to going to multi-plex cinemas to see movies. In NYC, each movie had it's own theater with huge lit-up marquees outside of them.
In June of 1987, we went to an 11:30pm (no one sleeps in New York) showing of "Predator," starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. Since then, I've LOVED anything "Predator," although I must admit some of sequels missed the mark.
This latest attempt tho is unique in that it is directed by Shane Black (pictured above), one of the stars of the original movie.
Here is the official synopsis and teaser trailer for "The Predator" that opens this summer.
"From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home in Shane Black’s explosive reinvention of the Predator series. Now, the universe’s most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race."
