It's no secret that when it comes to the American Music Awards, country music is basically the red headed step child of the family.
And, Kane Brown noticed.
The country star was up for three AMAs this evening.
We saw Kane accept the award for Favorite Male Country Artist during the televised portion of the show, but what you didn't see is he also won two other awards -- For Favorite Country Album and Favorite Country Song.
During an interview with Variety, the reporter said he had just spoken to Kane after he won his first award, and after about 20 minutes, the singer now had three AMAs.
Kane agreed it was a bit shocking. The reporter asked how the process of getting the other two awards worked.
Kane alluded to country (music) not being big enough to get that much attention on air, but Kane kept things very positive by saying he was honored just to be nominated.
Country musician and #AMAs winner @kanebrown jokes that "country's not big enough to get on the AMAs" https://t.co/h4Z2EqnZ36 https://t.co/JnarUoB8h5
While Kane certainly didn't harp on that minor detail of how he received his other two awards, we happen to think it should have been televised.
Do you agree?
